Church Staff

Buddy Padgett, Music Director
  • Family Members? Wife, Elaine; Children - Desiree and her husband Brandon Carman and their children Kristopher, Kayla and Kelsy , Cynthia, and Katie Padgett.
  • Hobbies: Genealogy research, working on my computer databases, collecting baseball cards- especially sets from major food companies, restaurants, and such.
  • What aspect of our church do you enjoy the most? Music and singing, of course! I also enjoy teaching.
  • What advice would you give to those people needing spiritual enrichment?Daily Bible reading and time set aside for prayer is a must. Followed with dedicated service for God, plus, as Hebrews 10:25 says, "Go to church and fellowship!"
  • What is your favorite memory of Chapel Lane? It is actually a continuing memory of watching our youth grow up from primary class children to active members themselves. Teaching classes and becoming our future laity.
  • Do you have a favorite Bible verse to share? I don't know that I have an absolute favorite, but one that gives me comfort in reading is Psalm 5:1-3. I like reading it early mornings.
  • Who is your hero from the Bible? That would be King David, because if God can use and forgive him with all his failures and weaknesses, then I know without doubt that God can use anyone in His service as long as we are willing to at least try.

Loy Wells, Treasurer
  • Family Members? Wife, Pauline; Daughters & their families: Melinda, Bill, and sons Alex and Patrick; McGlothlen and Dorinda & Dan Blankenship
  • Hobbies: Auctions, flea markets, camping, and fishing
  • What aspect of our church do you enjoy the most?  The fellowship dinner, of course.  Nah, but I do enjoy them.  The Sunday and Wednesday classes where you have a chance to exchange ideas and thoughts.  The preaching of the Bible as it was written.
  • What advice would you give to those people needing spiritual enrichment? There is no better way than attending a Bible believing, preaching, teaching church like ours.  The people are the church! Be dedicated at learning.
  • What is your favorite memory of Chapel Lane? The way people united in believing the Lord's direction when a decision was made to move from the Center Street location to Chapel Lane.  Only the Lord knows how that was possible. Also, when all our Sunday school classes were occupied.
  • Do you have a favorite Bible verse to share? Matthew 6:33   If we seek God's will and follow it to the best of our ability He will meet our needs.
  • Who is your hero from the Bible? Jesus- because He is the one that made salvation possible for us.   Paul- what a teacher and example for me to learn from and follow.
